“I booked another company and got no confirmation, so at the last minute I went looking for a same-day crew to unload our pod. Joshua was patient and helpful and got two people here to unload it in half the time. Both men were personable and worked fast. Thank you for saving me from a real headache!”
Are the trucks and the movers yours, or hired out?
Yes, and it is a real Providence crew, women and men. Ava’s is woman-owned, licensed and insured, and we travel to most states. Nobody sells your job to a middleman or a day-rate driver in a rented van.
How much will my move cost?
One honest flat quote, told before we start. A studio usually runs $300–$440 and a two-bedroom $720–$1,080. Booking by the hour instead? Two movers run $115/hr, three run $165/hr, with the $50 deposit credited to the total.
Do you move and haul junk at the same time?
Yes. Ava’s started in hauling, so we move what you keep and cart off what you do not, all in one trip and one honest number, often the same day.
Is the quote final, or will it change?
It is final. We build the triple-decker stairs, the parking, and the heavy pieces into the flat quote up front, so the number you hear is the number you pay. Want a ceiling? We put a ceiling price on the paperwork the bill cannot pass.
Is there a deposit?
A $50 deposit locks your date and comes straight off the total. Give us a couple of days notice to reschedule or cancel and it comes back in full.
Do you move into Massachusetts or Connecticut?
Constantly. Boston is an hour up and Connecticut an hour down, and the same crew that loads you here unloads you there on one honest quote.
Can you handle a piano, a safe, or a hot tub?
Yes, the heavy awkward pieces are no problem, with the boards, dollies, and straps for the job, quoted flat in writing before the date.
How far ahead should I book?
Tuesday-to-Thursday slots usually free up inside a few days. Weekends, the end of the month, and the college move season in September and May fill fast, so reach out early.
Are you really open that late?
We are, seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., because moves and cleanouts do not always fit a nine-to-five, and last-minute jobs are our specialty.
What if something gets damaged?
Standard liability rides at the federal sixty-cents-a-pound rate, and full-value coverage runs about one to three percent of what you declare. The claim window runs nine months, and we write down anything the day of.
